Important Notice to TUAT Members (Students and Staff) Regarding New Type Influenza (Updated)

Important Notice Regarding New Type Influenza


According to our previous notification, we issued a warning of the new type influenza. However, due to the continuing spread of infection, TUAT has established the following policy with regards to overseas travel. We ask that all TUAT students, faculty and staff members comply with the policy.

1. Please refrain from traveling to countries and regions where New Type Influenza outbreak has been confirmed, and also reconsider your plan to travel to other countries and regions.
If traveling abroad is necessary, please collect the latest information announced by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Since the infected area continues to increase each day, please inform the university where you are going before traveling abroad in all cases. Contact information can be found below (list number 6).

2. Those who returned from overseas are requested to inform the university and to follow the instructions as follows. Contact information can be found below(list number 6).

* As a general rule, for 7 days after you departed from countries and regions where New Type Influenza outbreak has been confirmed, please wear a mask when you come to university campuses.
* For 7 days after you departed from countries and regions where New Type Influenza outbreak has been confirmed, please check your body temperature and carefully monitor your health condition.
* However, if any infected individual is found among the passengers on the plane, initial date of reckoning will be the date when the plane arrived.

3. In the cases of having the symptoms such as high fever, cough, sore-throat, diarrhea, and vomiting after returning to Japan, please do not come to the university.
Consult with the healthcare center of your residential area by phone, and follow any medical advice you receive and report the result to the university.

4. The person in charge of inviting or accepting someone from countries and regions where New Type Influenza outbreak has been confirmed must keep track of each visitor's health condition.

5. There is a possibility that TUAT may decide to cancel classes and ban entrance to the campus if any infected individual is found among the member of TUAT.
Therefore, please make sure to check the university website often.

NOTICE
Since this notification is based on the current stage of the alert level of outbreak as follows under conditions that have not yet led to cancelling of classes or closing of university campuses, there may be updates due to any changes that occur in domestic infection status. Please make sure to check the university website often.
